Hitachi Contractor Bag Review

This is the Hitachi tool bag that came in the kit KC18DCL that we purchased from Tylertool.com. This tool bag is made from a heavy duty Nylon with two handles to carry the bag. On the outside there are a couple small pockets to hold hand tools you might access often. Once you zip open the bag, there are two pockets. One designed for the charger and the other is a small nylon mesh with a zipper. This bag will hold all the tools in this kit with room left over for other tools.
As you can see from our other tool bag reviews, we like to test the weight this bag can handle. Since this is a light kit, weighing under 20lbs., we figured we would put 50lbs. in this bag to test it. As you can see from the video, we put 50lbs of weight in the bag, lifted it up and gave it a couple good tugs. The bag held up and nothing tore. We feel very comfortable over loading this bag and knowing it will hold up.
Over we like the bag. Good storage and built just right for this kit. As you can see this bag has some great strength.

Power Tool Test and Reviews

Since we have been testing and reviewing power tools, we have received a lot of feedback. We have received a lot of positive feedback about our reviews, and remember if you would like to see something reviewed, please let us know by posting your ideas on our forum.
One question we receive over and over is why are we so rough on the power tools while other people who do reviews just talk about the features and benefits. We also hear that “I own power tools and am never that rough on the power tools.” Everyone we have talked with or sent us an email likes that we are rough on the tools and how we present the information. Well we wanted to give an official response to our power tool testing since it has been drawing a lot of buzz around the Internet.
When we test and review power tools, we have a couple objectives we try to accomplish with each review. Our first objective is to cover the features and benefits of each power tool. We see what options are integrated with the power tools and see they are practical options. We also look to see what options or features the manufacturer has forgotten. The next item we look at is the balance of the power tool, which is very important. Having a power tool that is not properly balanced causes more fatigue on the users body and can lead to injuries and a slow down of work.
Another feature we study is practical use. While most people are very good to their power tools, we also know some are not. We would rather test for the people who are very hard on their tools, that way we know if it works for them, it will definitely work for someone who is kind to their tools and takes care of them. There are times we leave tools outside in the rain over night, in the snow and more. Well, we want to make sure these power tools can handle all different enviorments and different users. What we do is select what power tool would most likely be used under a particular condition and put that power tool through that test. That’s why we don’t put water on all our tools or put all our batteries in the freezer.
We know there has been a lot of talk online and people seem excited about our power tool tests. So, we would like to thank everyone. Remeber, if you would like to see something tested, you can either contact us or leave feedback on the forum.
Milwaukee Contractor Bag Review

This review is for the Milwaukee contractor’s bag that came in the V28 Combo kit model number 0928-29. We received this Milwaukee Combo kit from tylertool.com which you can purchase here. You can also buy this tool bag sepratly which is model number 48-55-3530. When first looking at the bag you will notice that it is rather large, which is good. The dimensions are 24.5″ L x 13″ W x 14″ H. This bag is made out of 600 denier material, so it is water resistant, not water proof which you don’t want for power tool storage. Never buy an tool bag that is water proof, because your tools will not be able to breath. If your tools can not breath, the moisture will eat away at your tools.
One aspect we liked a lot was all the pockets. On the outside there are plenty of pockets to store hand tools for easy access. The outside also has two hand straps to carry the bag or one large shoulder strap. Once you open the Milwaukee contractor bag, you will notice the large amount of room that fits the Combo, with room left over for other items. On the inside of the tool bag, there are even more pockets to store items. This is a nice feature, now instead of all your tools at the bottom of the bag, you can easily access them. With all the tools from the kit plus any additional hand tools you will be putting in the bag, you might look at a weight of 50lbs. at most. So for our test we wanted to over load the bag and see what happens.
For our power tool test of the Milwaukee contractor bag, we loaded the bag with 2-50lb. salt bags. As a user, I am not sure anyone will be walking around with 100lbs. of tools in this bag, but it would be nice to know if it can handle this amount of wieght. After we loaded the bag with this weight, we just picked it off the ground and moved it up and down to make sure the bottom didn’t break or the handles didn’t snap. We weren’t sure, but the bag was fine and held up. Now some might say why didn’t you swing the bag around and try to get it to break. Our response is if you can easilly swing around 100lbs of power tools or have the need to do this, you might want to think about joing the Olypmic weight lifting team!
Our over all review of the Milwaukee contractor bag is 5 blades. The bag is big and strong enough to carry a lot of tools. The outside and inside pockets make for easy access and great organization of tools. This bag comes with the Milwaukee V28 Combo kit we bought at tylertool.com
Be Careful of Power Tool Reviews

At professional-power-tool-guide.com we always love to read other people’s power tool reviews, even though we test and review power tools here. While some people present valid reviews, once in a while we see reviews that are so far off we have to laugh. One example of this is a recent Popular Mechanic review here. Now we are not ridiculing Popular Mechanics, we are just commenting on a particular review.
Everyone is entitled to write one bad review, and Popular Mechanics gets the prize this time with regards to the reciprocating saw. What’s just as bad, we found other blogs that took this review and published it without even thinking twice about it. Anyway, when you read reviews on power tools, make sure the writer is comparing apples to apples. Is it the same amps, same HP, is one tool meant for the jobsite and the other a home user? Are they using the same blade and same force?
With regards to this review on reciprocating saws, we are not negative , in fact we think the Milwaukee Sawzall is the best reciprocating saw on the market. Persoanlly, for the money, we like the 13 amp over the 15 amp. The Dewalt, Craftsman and Black and Decker are all very nice reciprocating saws.
There are a couple of reasons we don’t like this review. First the amps are not even the same. The Milwaukee has 15 amps, Dewalt has 13 amps, Craftsman has 12 amps and the Black and Decker has only 9.5 amps. Now in a sense amps measure the electrical current, not the power, but amps do indirectly let us know about the power of the tool. There is a big difference between 15 amps and 9.5 amps.
Second mistake on this review is the blade comparison. While the video doesn’t show the Black and Decker being tested, on the picture they have a wood blade, not a multi pupose blade. This might just be a stock photo, and duing the test a multi purpose blade was used.
The third item is the manufacturers. While we think it is ok to compare the Milwaukee to a Dewalt because these are professional power tools, the Black and Decker doesn’t fit as these are designed for a weekend warrior or home use. Again, there is nothing wrong with a Black and Decker. This saw just doesn’t belong in this review comparison. The review would have been better comparing just popular professional tools.
The Tiger Saw by Porter Cable is a great saw. Another is the Makita. We think a better or more accurate test would have been a Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, Hitachi and Porter Cable. All with the same, or close to the same amps.
In Summary, our point is when you read power tool reviews, take a close look at what people are comparing. Are they comparing apples to apples or is it apples to oranges. If you are looking for a reciprocating saw, we provided a couple links below to some excellent saws.
