Dewalt DCS387 20V MAX COMPACT Reciprocating Saw

The DCS387 is basically a 20V cordless version of the DeWALT DWE357 compact reciprocating saw.  Instead of focusing on a 12V line DeWALT is bringing 20V power down to the size of a 12v.  Apparently this is working quite well. While Milwaukee’s 12V Fuel Hacksall got bigger the 20V DeWALT got smaller.  They are getting close in size and obviously 20V has more power. The DCS387 weighs 5 lbs and is only 14.5″ long.  This means it can fit in tight areas like between studs.  A variable speed trigger produces 0-2900 spm with a 1-1/8″ stroke.  An LED light...

Bostitch Orbital Reciprocating Saw Review – BTE360K

I can’t say I have a lot of experience with Bostitch power tools.  Really the items I have used over the years have been the nailers and compressors.  When it comes to compressors and nailers, I am a fan of Bostitch.  I found out these are being sold through Amazon and Walmart.  I am not knocking Walmart, I am just having a real hard time picturing professional tools being sold at Walmart.  I have always associated Walmart with selling no name tools and Black & Decker.  With that being said, I do know a lot of people buy power...

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Sawzall Review

Milwaukee has been going crazy with their new Fuel line.  They started with drills and impacts, then moved over to cutting tools like the circular saw, grinder and now the Sawzall.  Milwaukee has built a reputation from this reciprocating saw.  A reputation of being tough and reliable.  In fact, most people call other manufacturers reciprocating saws, Sawzalls.  Well with the new Fuel, Milwaukee just broke through some barriers and made it even better. Before we start you should know that anything Milwaukee calls “Fuel”, basically means it is powered by a brushless motor.  A brushless motor has a lot...

KOBALT 12 Amp Reciprocating Saw – K12RS-06A

KOBALT is relatively new to the power tool arena and the Lowes house brand is looking to take on Ryobi and RIDGID.  We got a chance to check out the Kobalt 12-Amp Keyless Variable Speed Corded Reciprocating Saw K12RS-06A. The 12 amp Reciprocating saw has a variable speed trigger that produces up to 2800 SPM with a 1 1/8″ stroke length.  For our tests we used the saw on some decking and general pipe cutting and it did the job just fine.  The saw weighs 9.3lbs and was able to tear through 4×4 posts with ease, especially with the 4...
