Stanley Black & Decker Acquires Craftsman Tools from Sears for 900 Million Dollars

Its no surprise to people that buy tools regularly that Sears has been in bad shape for years, and that Sears selling its popular brands was something that was going to happen eventually. Everyone has heard of Kennmore, Craftsman, and Diehard it was just a matter of if and when Sears had to sell those brand names. The surprising thing is SBD aka Stanley Black and Decker bought Craftsman so soon after just acquiring the tool arm of Newell Rubbermaid which included the brands Irwin, Lenox, and Hilmore. The Craftsman purchase is more interesting because they sell tools from...

Smoking Hot Metabo Deal

Metabo isn’t known for having frequent free tool promotions like the other major tool brands. Metabo positions itself as a premium tool manufacturer.  If you watch the Tools in Action reviews Dan and Eric have been impressed with Metabo tools they have tried.  The rebate is good on the Metabo tools kits listed on the flyer between 7/1/2016 and 11/30/2016.  You have until 12/30/16 to submit your rebate information.  You can use the rebate from any Metabo retailer.  The best options I have seen to buy Metabo tools from is CPO Metabo and Metabo Tools at Metabo...

New Ridgid Jobmax Heads

Ridgid has added some new heads to their Jobmax line. The Jobmax platform is interesting because of all the attachments you can add to the base power head. It started out as an oscillating multi-tool, but is now a much deeper product line now. Ridgid has added a tool-free multi tool head which is a nice upgrade to the line. Everyone knows how annoying dealing with the hex keys to change blades can be if they have an OMT without tool-free blade change. The other Jobmax head Ridgid has added is a rotary/drywall cutter head. This looks interesting for...

New Black & Decker 40V Brushless Cordless Snow Blower

It seems like cordless snow blowers are the hot new thing everyone wants and now Black and Decker is getting into the market. The nice thing about cordless snow blowers is the convince of not dealing with gas. We all know now how much of a hassle ethanol has made dealing with gas powered OPE. If the equipment is not used weekly or daily you will have problems from bad gas and snow blowers can sit for a long time which is horrible for your gas powered equipment. I have to say this unit looks pretty good for the...

Black and Decker Smart Tech Bluetooth Battery

Stanley Black and Decker is releasing a smart Bluetooth battery for the Black and Decker 20v battery platform. It looks to be the same idea as the Dewalt Bluetooth battery, but they added one really cool feature that the Dewalt battery does not have, which is a USB port on the top of the battery to charge your phone or other electronic devices. It will be a $20 premium over the other Black and Decker 20v batteries. I don’t know if the Bluetooth feature is worth the premium on a Black and Decker tool, but USB outlet looks to...

The One-Key application also has presets that pick the best settings for the material and task at had. I have to say this looks...

Ryobi’s New 18 Volt One Plus Lawn Tools – Summer 2016

Below are some video teasers of some new Ryobi tools coming out soon.  Looks like they will have a new leaf blower, string trimmer, and chainsaw.  These recently just surfaced on YouTube.  The new blower looks like a copy of the Ridgid X4 blower, so it should have similar power as the Ridgid version.  The chainsaw and string trimmer look like completely new designs. We haven’t been able to find any specs on these tools. I just wanted let everyone know that cool new lawn tools are coming from Ryobi for summer 2016. You can’t beat Ryobi when it...

Nemo Special Ops Water Proof Drill

As you guys know most drills don’t like water, as we witnessed in the TIA drill fight video posted about a month ago. Now you can work underwater. it’s kinda cool. The price point is insane at $1,720. You could go through a lot of 18v drills before you recoup that investment. The video also threw me off a bit, they are operating the drill and the screws are not moving.  What do you guys think of this strange tool find? Nemo Cordless Water Proof Drill                          ...
