Friday is here and Tools in Action has another tool Fight. This week we did 12V Impact Drivers, well just two of them. We took the Milwaukee M12 Fuel vs the Dewalt 12V. I am just going to cover a little of each tool and let the video do the rest of the talking.
The Milwaukee M12 Impact is model 2453-20 (Bare) and 2453-22 (Kit). The Dewalt model number is DCF815 (Bare) and DCF815S2 (Kit).
Is this really comparing apples to apples? No, because there are some significant differences. However these are the top tools each company is offering for a 12V impact driver. First, the Milwaukee is a Fuel which means it uses a brushless motor, while the Dewalt is a brushed motor. Second, the Milwaukee comes standard with a 2 A/h battery, while the Dewalt is still using a 1.5 A/h battery. The extra amps won’t give it more power, but it will give you longer run time. So with the Milwaukee we used both an older 1.5 and a 2 A/h battery. For this fight we used 3″ screws and went through some wood to see how many screws we could drive with each tool and each battery. There are some other differences for each tool, but check out the video below for the results.
