We recently had a rant about SawStop, well it seems now it is gaining headline news.

I am pretty sure Colbert isn’t on the same side as you guys and is making fun of companies and the government for not including this as a new technology on every saw. I am with you guys. Why force companies to put this on their saws. That will make the prices a lot higher. If people want that as a safety device, then they will buy a sawstop. I see some people buying the sawstop, but a majority people still buy other saws. It is all about demand. Come on. This guy probably just wants all the royalties off the safety device and that is it. It is not about the safety for him or at least I don’t think so.
Kevin I agree, Its sort of a funny spoof. What they don’t mention is that the expense is astronomical to both the manufacturer and the consumer. And Mr. SawStop will make a lot of money off the deal. We need a choice. :}

It has to be an optional accessorie, To force manufactures fit these devices would increase prices and give people a false sense of security.And what happens if one is fitted and it doesnt work and a finger is severed? A big law suit. That would be the end of saw stop,
But I can see here in Australia the govt legislating to have these devises fitted
