I will be posting this in a few different posts. When Milwaukee invited us to the 2010 New Product Symposium we were so excited that we watched reruns of Lavern and Shirley for a month. It is a once a year event where Milwaukee invites the media to come and check out it’s new products and meet the people that make the tools happen. Here is a recount of that day.
Here we are walking to the Accessories tent. From left to right is: Doug from ToolSnob.com, Jay from CopTool.com, Marc from HomeFixated.com, Ethan from OneProjectCloser.com, Tim from CharlesandHudson.com and Eric from Tia on the right. I have to say these are some of the best guys to have as colleagues in the Tool world, except for Eric.
Milwaukee is committed to working with the user and making certain trades easier, they don’t just release a new product, they innovate that product based on the users feedback. The Milwaukee bit case is a good example, it has a built in hex head that allows you to use it as a hand screw driver. It also has a built in wire stripper eliminating 2 tools therefore saving weight and space in your tool bag.
They also showed off this Shockwave 30 Degree Knuckle Adapter. This looks good for tight spaces and can handle the abuse of an impact gun.
We checked out some new grinders that are more powerful durable and compact and include electronics to protect the motor. Can you believe that they actually slowed the winding and refined the motor building process to achieve more power and make it more compact, thats innovation!
Next we checked out the 5263-21 5/8″ SDS-plus Rotary Hammer and our first impression was wow! It is compact, light, powerful and includes a vibration reducing handle that I thought worked great. It felt good in my hand and its lightweight made it easy to use .
On to the 5262-21 7/8″ SDS-Plus D-handle Rotary Hammer, it had massive power and good quality feel to it.
Thats a quick rundown of the accessories and corded tools from Milwaukee. We will be posting more about the event throughout the week.

Nice start to the recap- there’s so much to cover. And it was great to catch up with you and Eric.
