Nuts & Bolts of the i-drill 1i-osc
Specifications
The 1i-osc has all the features you would see in oscillating tools. It is shorter and more compact than other models we have reviewed which makes it great for the homeowner. It features one 12V lithium ion battery with a fuel gauge and a 45 minute global charger. Your work will always be illuminated, thanks to the integrated LED work light that also doubles as a low battery indicator by flashing when the charge is low. It has a variable speed dial that gives you from 5000 – 20000 OPM. i-drill backs all its tools with a solid 5 year warranty.
Review
The first thing you notice when you get the 1i-osc is the quality of the packaging, it was designed to appeal to the homeowner which it does very well. The 1i-osc comes in a black canvas case, inside is laser cut foam that protects the tool, a charger and accessories . With its sleek contours and curves, it looks like something from StarWars. The tool feels compact , is easy to grip and a tad smaller than other products we have seen on the market.
To keep up with the homeowner, i-drill includes a lot of accessories including blades, scrapers, sanding pads and rasps. It is also accompanied by a very comprehensive easy to follow manual which explains what each individual accessory does. Need more? No Problem, the included universal adapter will allow you to use both Bosch and Dremel accessories. For our test we did some sanding, scraping and cut through a piece of pine. It is not not the most powerful oscillating tool we have tested, but it is more than ample for any task a homeowner will need it for.
The integrated LED light on the front does a great job of illuminating your work.
Conclusion
If you are looking for an oscillating tool for odd jobs around the house then the 1i-osc is right up your alley. It is compact, stylish and includes a host of accessories. The included comprehensive manual will allow you to use the tool to its full potential. Although one battery is all a home owner will need, we would have like to have seen an extra battery come with the kit. i-drill tools are available from Amazon and Sears and a few other online retailers. They are backed by i-drill’s 5 year warranty.

Tool looks cool. The light is impressive. Please consider adding a second battery as an accessory. It would really improve it’s utility!
It’s pretty, but I’d like to see a cost comparison and an apples-to-apples comparison to the Multi Master, the Multi Max, the Milwaukee oscillating tool and the Chicago oscillating tool.
Do I have to subscribe to Consumer Report to get such a thing? Couldn’t this reviewer include some comparisons for interested consumers?
I won this drawing! Thanks guys! I just got home and saw it waiting on my doorstep! Can’t wait to use it soon!
Good Point, We will be having comparisons as we get more tools. I can tell you that the i-drill is better quality than the Chicago and not quite as powerful as the Milwaukee, The i-drill was designed for the home owner and the Milwaukee is for professionals, the Fein is twice as much $$$ as the other two and was also designed for professionals. The Multi Max and the I-drill would be the closest comparison. The Chicago is the lowest priced tool i guess it all depends on your budget.
