Review
This is the first measurement instrument from Dewalts new compact 12V max line up and it does not disappoint. It includes a nice hard case, charger, battery and a guide. It includes the same grip as the rest of the line which makes it feel like an extension of your hand. The backlit LCD is big and easily readable. It includes all the features you will normally see on a high end temp gun including: A data collection system that records your high, low and average temperatures. Patent pending blue and red LED lights alert you to the adjustable hot or cold measurement. It also includes an audible alarm which makes it quick and easy to target a hot/cold source. You can select through 3 different alarm modes and change from Fahrenheit to Celsius with the push of a button.
The tool also includes adjustable emissivity level (the ability of a surface to radiate heat). The default is .95 which works well on most surfaces. If you really need to pinpoint a temperature you can adjust the EMS by using the included guide. We used this on a variety of surfaces and was amazed at its distance and accuracy. The added alarms made finding drafts a snap.
Conclusion
