Milwaukee has been on a rampage of introducing new tools and accessories.  One of their most recent is the new SawZall blade design which features two new cool and practical designs.  The two new design features are the Anti Nail Guard and the Fang Tip.

Milwaukee was the inventor of the reciprocating saw.  They are known to be one of the best on the market.  In fact the name Sawzall is commonly interchangeable with reciprocating saw, even though Sawzall is trademarked by Milwaukee as their line.  They are built tough and made to last even under the heaviest conditions.  They have come out with some great innovations over time such as the Quik-Lok blade clamp that keeps the blade in place even when you abuse the blade.  The Quik-Lok cord is another great innovation where the cord locks into place, so if the cord gets damaged, you can just pop a new cord on without having to take the saw apart.

Milwaukee tools just recently announced another revolutionary idea with the Sawzall blades which makes this saw as a whole, one incredible saw to work with and have fun.  It’s not too often that we either just cut metal or wood.  The Sawzall is designed to destroy which means there is a wide variety of applications and materials in any demo job.  It’s up to the user to pick what type of blade to use, do you want speed or do you want durability?  Speed is great, but you rip through blades because they tend to dull rather quick.  The durable blades tend to be more slow at getting the job done, but get a little longer life.

One main feature Milwaukee introduced is the Nail Guard.  This is a great innovation as it gives the user speed and saves blades at the same time.  If you look at the picture below you can notice the new design.  As you can see, the design prevents the nail from getting in the gulley before the tooth, which stops the jumping and saves the blade.  You may be asking where is the speed.  Well besides stopping the jumping to increase durability, Milwaukee as gone from a 6 TPI (Teeth per inch) to a 5 TPI which is far more aggressive.

The second feature Milwaukee Tools designed for their blades is the Fang Tip, why yes it sounds tough, it is actually cool looking too (See picture below).  On the tip of the blade, it looks a little like a shark tooth as it curves back into the blade which allows the blade to grab and make a plunge cut straight into material such as wood.  There are a variety of applications where this will come in handy.
